Betsy and Tanner are very recent transplants to the South Bay Area. They moved from Iowa City, IA which was my home for four years of grad school. Needless to say, when I called Betsy to chat about their engagement session, she recognized my Iowa City cell number and we both agreed it was meant to be!
Betsy and Tanner met at a dog park so it was only fitting that their two adorable Australian Shepherds were in their engagement photos too. Anderson Lake County Park at the Coyote Creek trailhead in Morgan Hill was the perfect location since they both enjoy hiking and love the beautiful California landscape. Plus, the park is flat which makes walking in heels much easier!
Lucky for us we had the park to ourselves on a Wednesday evening and the purple wildflowers were in bloom. We lost the sun behind some clouds before sunset, but the light was beautiful and diffused. Betsy and Tanner were up for adventure so they had fun exploring the park with their dogs, playing in the grasses, and dancing on the bridge while I focused on documenting the fun with more candid photography. Their chemistry and playfulness towards one another was endearing. With their wedding back East this summer, these two were such a joy to photograph and get to know.
